About

Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in LA’s Laurel Canyon during its music halcyon days, Louise Goffin is a badass, multi-talented, modern-day renaissance woman. Her jobs in music have ranged from singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, record producer, and has been known to tour as a hired gun for other artists. She released her debut album on Elektra/Asylum when she was 19. Along the way Louise produced a Grammy-nominated record for Carole King, “A Holiday Carole” which was King’s 17th studio album. Louise has released eight solo albums of her own, on major labels ranging from Elektra/ Asylum, Warner Bros. and Dreamworks to independent releases on her Majority of One imprint.

2017 finds Louise Goffin with a couple dozen recent tracks on hand and she has decided to take a new course to releasing her music. Starting with the Oct. 20 drop of “Revenge,” a collaboration with North Carolina musician Skylar Gudasz, Goffin is planning to release one song and video at a time, primarily through The Orchard and at Louisegoffin.com, at six- to eight-week intervals.

Goffin’s re-emergence was well-received, described by the San Diego Troubadour as “a masterpiece of reinvention”, by The Los Angeles Times as “endearing folk-pop”, and by American Songwriter as “a terrific return from an artist…whose best work is likely ahead of her.” July 3rd, 2016, Louise opened for Don Henley and Carole King in Hyde Park for British Summer Time, performing songs from “The Essential” to an audience of up to 66,000 people, with some of London’s finest A-List musicians. She performs her song “Archives” in Gilmore Girls (A Year In The Life), she sings Merry Merry Christmas is Miramax’s “Bad Santa 2”, and “Watching The Sky Turn Blue” is the end title for the now-on-Netflix independent feature film, “Carrie Pilby”. During her career, Louise has played with Tears For Fears, Bryan Ferry, David Gilmore, Stevie Nicks and Donovan, and has had fans among respected artists such as Linda Ronstadt (Playboy Interview) & Michael McDonald (New York Times Interview). You can find her on YouTube singing alongside Brian Wilson and Kate Bush (Spirit of The Forest, 1989) and she duets on the opening theme of the Gilmore Girls hit TV show with Carole King.
